London with a population greater than Belgium, Sweden, Ireland and many other EU countries and with a culture so different to the land surrounding it known as England does herein declare it's right to self determination.
Where is London?
The borders of London will encompass the Thames and the banks of the Thames from Henley to Gravesend and the land within and including the M25 , Heathrow, Gatwick and the road and rail corridors to our key national transport hubs as well as anywhere accessible by London Underground.
Our nation will be accessible by road, rail, air and sea.
Who is a Londoner?
Diversity is at the core of the London identity. Being a Londoner is a choice and therefore to be recognised as a full citizen of London one must have been born outside of London or have at least one parent born outside of London. Londoners with no external birth or parentage may not vote until they are naturalised. Naturalisation will take place through a process known as 'enlightenment'. Enlightenment will be a points based system with different numbers of points attainable for periods spent overseas or acquiring the ability to speak a Language other than English.
Status
London will be a Republic within the European Union and the Commonwealth.
The Queen may stay resident in London as head of the Commonwealth but will have to pay taxes. It may also be suggested that a relocation to a more suitable location such as Windsor may be more appropriate. Mayor Boris will be instantly elevated to the role of President pending elections which will take place within six months of independence.
Good luck with the final phase of the campaign. Inspired idea to keep the London National Party under wraps until the electorate is completely fed up with the three traditional parties ... will it be Tuesday, once folk are refreshed by the balmy weather and levity of the Bank Holiday, that your awesome campaign machine will stun the populace with a new and compelling prospectus?
ReplyDeleteHas David Cameron been in touch yet? Camera-on and Cleggie seem unlikely bedfellows. Whitney on the other hand could extend the reach of the LNP West of Henley.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mervyn King - this is a good election to lose. Let's not leap to David's aid. Keep our powder dry for the play-off election next May.
By the way, do we have a Party song/tune? The Clash had a catchy number ...
Membership of the party still at 0 as I haven't even joined yet. Loved your idea for the National Anthem as Londons Burning - will incorporate it. Maybe we can get London independence added to the AV referendum question. #LNP on Twitter
